UHDB supports Florence Nightingale Museum auction

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton is supporting the Florence Nightingale Museum’s auction of 100 Florence Nightingale items. 2020 is the year of Florence Nightingale’s 200th birthday celebrations and the hospitals have strong links with Florence, who was from the Derbyshire area.

The celebrity auctioneer, Charles Hansons, has organised a charity auction for the Museum this Friday, June 19 2020, at 6.15pm, with bidding starting at 7pm. The items include a Downing Street book signed by Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

John Rivers, former UHDB Chair, said: “UHDB and Derbyshire have very strong links with Florence Nightingale and it is important that we support the Florence Nightingale Museum, especially through the impact of Covid-19. The auction will have a significant impact on the Museum’s future and I hope that many people whohave a strong connection to Florence, either through the nursing community or the wider Derbyshire community, will support the auction.”
