For researchers
If you are interested in getting involved with research at UHDB we are here to help you navigate through the research process.
Getting started
Is your project research, service evaluation or audit?
It is important to establish early in the study planning process whether your project is research, service evaluation or audit. Not all projects are research and there are different approvals required for each type of project. To help you decide whether your project is research, the HRA has useful guidance to take you through the process:
- Access Health Research Authority website for defining research table (opens in new window) >
- Access Health Research Authority website for decisions tool for research and ethics (opens in new window) >
If your project is research
If your project is classed as research then you will need to get in touch with our Sponsor Team by emailing uhdb.sponsor@nhs.net
Our dedicated Sponsor Team will be able to support you through the process of applying for Health Research Authority (HRA) approval and Trust Sponsorship - [link to Sponsorship pages]
Alternatively, if you are unsure and require further support, our Sponsor Team are able to provide advice and support.
