Cardiology (heart) at Royal Derby Hospital
The Heart Centre at Royal Derby Hospital is one of the UK’s largest non-surgical cardiology centres, performing over 1000 procedures annually, and implanting complex devices such as pacemakers and defibrillators.
There is a 24/7 service for emergencies, including for heart attacks, and a full range of non-invasive tests offered by our British Society of Echocardiography accredited department.
Cardiology wards include the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) and Ward 408.
In addition to general outpatient services, there is a dedicated Heart Failure Clinic and Ambulatory Heart Failure Unit.
A range of specialist clinics are offered, including clinics with colleagues from Glenfield Hospital, Leicester.
We engage actively with clinical trial research.
