Dave cheered on by Derby County

Derby County fan Dave has been cheered on by the players he's used to backing from the stands of Pride Park as he continues his recovery after beating COVID-19.

Dave spent more than three months in hospital, with more than 60 of those days in Intensive Care, after contracting Coronavirus. As part of his recovery, Dave has had to learn how to walk and stand again, putting in a number of gruelling hours with our physiotherapists.

So it was a massive surprise to him when he was sent a personal video message from Rams defender Curtis Davies, wishing him well on behalf of the whole squad.

Dave, who is a season ticket holder at Pride Park, said: "All of my family go to the games. For me and my family, especially my grandchildren, thank you very much.

"Just those few words mean so much and it will drive me on. So once again, thank you Derby."
