Emma Greenwood, Governor
In my role as Governor, representing Lichfield and Tamworth I will utilise my professional expertise and my personal experience to drive constructive input to improve Trust services and that meet the healthcare needs of our local population.
Over the last four years I have given birth to both my children at Queen's Hospital Burton under the care of some fantastic midwifes, and close family members have received care for stroke and cancer from across the Trust which has provided me a much more personal experience of the services and how they join up with the community.
My background is in the health sector having worked at Cancer Research UK for over a decade leading their work in influencing government and advocating for improvements in public health and cancer care.
Whilst my main area of expertise is cancer, through my current role in consultancy I also have wide-ranging experience providing senior counsel and strategy expertise to organisations across the breadth of health and social care.
I have played a leading role in national reviews and strategies that have led to meaningful and sustainable change in the NHS, advising government and informing policy. I have a collaborative approach to how I work which I will bring to this role and I place significant value on diversity of input and experience.
I am motivated by seeing the positive impact organisations can have within society and the role that shaping conversations and decisions can have in bringing about societal change. The opportunity to give something back, through the Governor role, is an honour.
