Maternity staff's hard work and commitment pays off as CQC rating improves
We’re delighted that our Maternity services at Queen’s Hospital Burton and Samuel Johnson Community Hospital have been rated as good in all domains for the services they provide to women and their families.
The rating has improved since the last inspection in 2015 thanks to the hard work and commitment of staff working in the department.
Patricia Frost, Matron for Acute Maternity is very proud of the team, she said:
It’s so great to see our hard work has been recognised. The team have worked together over the last few years to tighten up our approach and ensure we give our patients the best experience through services that are safe and efficient.
The report commended the team for their structured planning and for responding well to patient feedback. “We always listen and learn from patients experiences” added Jo. The team recently purchased additional sleep chairs, so partners could stay overnight to support women post-surgery and during their induction period.
