New Pharmacy service for 800 patients

Pride Pharmacy team

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton is now operating a pharmacy home delivery service from Royal Derby Hospital.

The Trust has created ‘Pride Pharmacy’ to initially supply medicines for 800 rheumatology patients with long term conditions, with plans for other medicines to be added in the future.

Clive Newman, Chief Pharmacist UHDB and Managing Director Pride Pharmacy, said: “This is a really important step for us to be able to support patients directly, who were previously supplied by the private sector. The pharmacy team have worked incredibly hard for a number of years to be able to launch this service.”

The next milestone for Pride Pharmacy will involve the taking over of the Boots outpatient dispensing store near the main entrance of Royal Derby Hospital in February 2020.
