A tribute to Anna Lewis

It is with great sadness that we have to inform you of the death of Anna Lewis, a Speciality Trainee at UHDB. Anna re-joined the Trust in the autumn last year following a three year rotation at other hospitals as part of her training.

Gavin Boyle, Chief Executive, said: “Anna’s colleagues will remember her for being a very polite, gentle and kind person. Anna was always there to help others whether friends, family or patients. Colleagues say Anna was a person of few words but had a lovely sense of humour. She was a very hard-working doctor, nothing was too much trouble for her patients.

“Away from work Anna had a passion for going to the gym, especially swimming. She liked nothing more than catching up with friends and organising events, especially for her fellow SPRs to get together and relax after a busy week at work. Anna’s other passion was to travel and see new places and she often used her annual leave to go somewhere exciting.

“Colleagues say they have lost a compassionate and caring and loving friend and doctor.”

Our heartfelt condolences go to Anna’s family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time. Anna’s family have asked for privacy, but that if you do remember Anna on social media we do so by sharing the positive memories of her at this time.
