Pride Pharmacy relocation
If you will be collecting a prescription from Pride Pharmacy from the end of April onwards you will need to collect this from a new location.
The pharmacy, which is based at Royal Derby Hospital and is used to collect medicine and prescriptions for outpatients and currently located near the main entrance of the hospital, will be moving to Level 2 of the Kings Treatment Centre (KTC), which is part of Royal Derby Hospital, at the end of April 2025.
The same service will be available to patients and our communities, including collection of prescriptions and medications but from a new purpose-designed location.
How do I get to the new Pride Pharmacy site?
The new Pride Pharmacy service will be opening in the space at the front of the Kings Treatment Centre (Level 2).
The nearest entrance to the new location will be the KTC Entrance 6. The nearest car parks will be car park 2 and 3.
We know that the new location will be further away from some of our services and clinics, so arrangements have been made with our helpful volunteers to ensure they are on hand to help you find out where to go.
If you need assistance to get to the new pharmacy, our volunteers also operate our yellow patient buggy service and will be able to transport you on a buggy to the nearest lifts and stairs to the new pharmacy site. A second buggy available in the Kings Treatment Centre will then be available to help you complete your journey.
To find the pharmacy from the main entrance:
- Head towards the main crossroads where you will see a big star on the floor. Turn right, following signs for Kings Treatment Centre
- Go all the way to the end of the corridor and take the lift or stairs to Level 2
- Head along the long, windowed corridor, again following signs for Kings Treatment Centre. When you get to the end, turn right.
- Continue straight ahead and Pride Pharmacy will be on your left.
To find the pharmacy from outside the main building:
- As you are looking at the front of Royal Derby Hospital, turn right and follow the path by the road. Follow signs for Kings Treatment Centre.
- Continue past the turning that heads towards the Emergency Department.
- When you reach the Kings Treatment Centre, which is next to the entrance for Car Park 2, enter through the main doors.
- Pride Pharmacy will be located on your right.
What will be different at the new Pride Pharmacy location?
While the service will remain the same, we have taken feedback from patients and visitors on board and have incorporated a larger waiting area as part of the new location.
The waiting area will be slightly further away from the main counter, with digital screens clearly displaying when your prescription will be ready.
