Garry Marsh announced as Deputy Chief Executive
We are pleased to share that Garry Marsh has been appointed as Deputy Chief Executive, alongside his existing Executive Chief Nurse role.
Many of you will know Garry, who joined the Trust in 2022 after an extensive nursing and operational career across the Midlands - coming to UHDB from The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham where he had been Chief Nurse for seven years.
On the appointment, Garry said: "I'm really pleased to be stepping into this role. Being clinical by background, I want to always make sure that the patient remains at the heart of our decision-making while we continue to focus our efforts on operational and financial sustainability. Clinical quality and safety will always be my core priorities as we look to deliver the best possible care for our patients."
Stephen Posey, Chief Executive, added: "We are delighted that Garry has been successful, and I have no doubt that his knowledge and experience as a clinical leader will add huge value. Garry's passion for quality and patient care make him the ideal candidate and I look forward to continuing to work closely with him here at UHDB."
Garry will formally take up the Deputy CEO addition to his role on 1 November.
Alongside his work at the Trust Garry is the Chief Nurse Senior Responsible Officer for infection prevention and control across the Derbyshire system, and also works with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) as an Executive Reviewer on Well Led inspections.
