Lighting up our hospitals for Baby Loss Awareness Week 2024

Baby Loss Awareness Week 2024

This week (9-15 October) is Baby Loss Awareness Week, a time for bereaved parents and families to come together to commemorate and remember the lives of their babies.

At UHDB we are shining a light on the support available to the baby-loss community and beyond, and to raise awareness of pregnancy and baby loss.

The theme for this year is 'Together, we care' and we will be lighting up our maternity entrances at Queen's Hospital Burton and Royal Derby Hospital pink and blue throughout the week to encourage conversation and remembrance.

We will also be joining others in the global Wave of Light > on 15 October as a remembrance to all babies that have died too soon.

If you or someone you love have suffered baby loss and you feel you could benefit from some support, please reach out. There are a wealth of charities who can help, and our own programmes offer a variety of support, including counselling, should you wish to access it.
