Research project at Florence Nightingale Community Hospital seeking people who have Parkinson's Disease

Do you have Parkinson's Disease and have difficulty when walking?

A research project at Florence Nightingale Community Hospital (FNCH) led by University of Plymouth with input from Derby Steps2Study Principal Investigator, Helen Evans, is looking for people who have Parkinson's Disease to improve their walking through Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) — a treatment where a small device, worn on the leg, applies electrical impulses to nerves.

Taking place at seven NHS Trusts the Steps II trial will investigate if FES can produce benefits for people living with Parkinson's Disease.

More information on what taking part would involve can be found here > (opens in new window).
