Routine blood test appointments available at Sir Robert Peel Community Hospital

Appointments for patients requiring routine blood tests will be available to book at Sir Robert Peel Community Hospital in Tamworth from Monday 4 September, allowing patients in Staffordshire to access appointments closer to home.
The clinic runs on Mondays and Tuesdays, 8am - 4pm and is open to all patients who have been referred for a blood test by their GP.
This is the latest development as part of the roll out of Community Diagnostic Centres (CDCs), a £2.3 billion national investment to reduce waiting times and provide care in communities. CDCs are ‘one-stop shops’ designed to provide an easier and altogether better patient experience by having a host of diagnostic facilities and services in one place, eliminating the need for patients to attend multiple appointments often at different hospital sites. UHDB is home to two CDC sites - Sir Robert Peel Community Hospital in Tamworth and Florence Nightingale Community Hospital in Derby. Ilkeston Community Hospital is also a CDC site, where UHDB colleagues provide services.
