“I am extremely proud of what they have achieved under such challenging circumstances and think they too should be proud of themselves because it hasn’t been easy.”
The team also worked to ensure swab test results were rapidly turned around, to help determine whether patients were Covid positive to place them on the correct treatment pathway.
Cathy Winfield, Executive Chief Nurse, visited the Pathology team to present the Exceptional Care Together award in person to share celebrate their achievement.
She said: “The team have been instrumental in the fight against Covid-19. They have responded extremely well to the many challenges that the pandemic has brought.
“Without the teams support with rolling out PCR tests across our Trust, we would have really struggled to get control the situation.
“So I would like to thank the team for all their hard work and dedication over this difficult period.”
