Sudhakar Shinde Governor

I am a public health professional with 16 years of diverse experience working in the NHS, Local Government and Civil Service.

I have strong experience in strategic leadership, management and the implementation of various public health and healthcare programmes across UHDB, Derbyshire ICS and the Midlands.

I led and implemented several initiatives in local and regional NHS Trusts, including commissioning, service development, new pathways, quality improvement, governance and assurance. Being a Derby City resident, I am fully acquainted with local demographics, population needs, inequalities, and areas requiring improvement.

Public Governors play a crucial role in ensuring that UHDB is appropriately governed and meets the needs of the local population. As a public Governor, I will represent the local community and support the Trust in improving patient outcomes.

My passion and commitment have always been towards the well-being of our community and the improvement of healthcare services. As Governor, I want to make a significant contribution to the strategic direction and governance of UHDB Trust, ensuring that it keeps providing patients with high-quality treatment while encouraging innovation and transformation. Being an EDI champion, I am passionate about representing the diverse voices within our community and promoting transparency and equity in care.

With my clinical and public health background and recent Executive MBA qualification, I will bring diverse skills and expertise including business planning, strategy development, leadership, management, service improvement, data analysis, stakeholder engagement, communication, finance and risk management to support and enhance discussions and key decisions around Trust services, strategy and ambitions.
