Future workforce event to showcase more than 350 exciting careers on offer at UHDB
Are you interested in a clinical or non-clinical role within healthcare? Would you like the opportunity to talk to and hear from a range of healthcare professionals and training providers who can equip you with all the knowledge you need to make decisions about your future career?
Well look no further because an exciting event, which will showcase an array of careers and opportunities available at UHDB, will take place at Royal Derby Hospital in October.
The Careers Fair, which is aimed young people who are considering a career in healthcare, will feature a variety of clinical and non-clinical talks and stalls where staff will be on hand to share information about their roles and educate students on the various routes available to help them pursue their chosen career.
Alice Dalton, Work Experience Facilitator at UHDB, said the event will be an excellent opportunity for people of all ages to see the variety of careers available, which include apprenticeships, clinical engineering, pathology, radiotherapy and finance.
Alice said: "There is so much to offer here at the Trust. I think when people leave school or college there can be the common myth that to work here you have to be a doctor or a nurse, but there is so much more going on behind the scenes and we just want to give people, particularly those who are leaving school and college, the knowledge they need to find a role that appeals to them."
The event, which is being hosted in partnership with the Princes' Trust, will see the first 500 people to attend treated to a goody bag. While attendees are invited to go along at any time during the event, specific talks will take place at set times and will not be repeated.
Alice continued: "We are really excited to show everyone just what we have to offer and hopefully people will come along, get a goody bag and leave with a career path in mind."
The event will take place on Wednesday, 11 October from 5.30pm - 8.30pm, in the Education Centre at Royal Derby Hospital. It will kick off with a welcome talk at 6pm before other talks throughout the evening.
