Medical Assessment Unit

We assess whether patients need to be admitted into hospital or can be treated as an outpatient.

Patients are referred to our services by their GP, the emergency department, or the out-of-hours service. Patients referred to us should try to bring all their medicines with them.  

The average length of stay for patients on the Medical Assessment Unit is between 8-12 hours.

Visitors are welcome anytime, day or night.
